Do you use the FusionSolar app to monitor your Huawei solar panels? Then you may have received a message about the switch to Energy Orb B.V. Such a message can raise questions. Will your solar panels keep working? What happens to your data? Do you need to install a new app? And will your installer retain access to your installation? We explain clearly what is changing and what stays the same.
Via FusionSolar, you can view the production and operation of your solar panels online. For example, you can see how much energy your installation generates. You can also monitor your inverter and home battery. Huawei wants to transfer the European management of this platform to Energy Orb B.V. This is a Dutch company developing a European platform for monitoring sustainable energy installations.
The change only concerns the online environment and the app. Your solar panels, inverter, battery, and other devices will not be replaced or modified.
Huawei indicates that the switch is part of its strategy to store and manage data from European users within Europe.
Yes. The switch to a different monitoring platform normally has no influence on the production of your solar panels.
Your inverter will continue to convert solar power. A home battery will continue to store and release energy. Optimizers and other linked devices will also continue to work normally. The monitoring app shows what is happening in your installation. The app does not determine whether your solar panels produce energy or not. The existing warranty conditions for Huawei devices should also not change due to this transition.
According to the initial communication, your current username and password will remain valid. Your historical production data, installation details, and device settings should also be transferred to the new EnergyOrb Europe platform. Normally, you should not need to create a completely new account.
Check your data after the switch
Check if your installation is visible, if your historical production data is still available, and if all devices are online.
No. At this moment, you don’t need to do anything.
The switch was initially planned for July 15, 2026, but has been postponed. Huawei would announce the new date at least two weeks in advance. Until then, the existing FusionSolar app remains available.
Do not delete your current FusionSolar account. Also, do not disconnect any devices or installations.
Watch out for other appsThere are apps with similar names that have nothing to do with Huawei or EnergyOrb Europe. Only install a new app via an official notification from FusionSolar, Huawei, or Energy Orb.
At Solar Assistance, we don’t just look at the app. We primarily monitor the performance of the entire solar panel installation. When the switch officially takes place, we will check where necessary if existing installations remain linked. We will also verify if our access rights have been correctly transferred and if alarms and production data continue to come in.
For companies, this is extra important. Their monitoring platform may be linked to reports, external software, or automatic notifications. After a switch, these links must therefore always be checked.
Solar Assistance continues to monitor your installationDoes Solar Assistance actively monitor your installation? Then we will look at what consequences the final switch has for our monitoring and technical assistance.
A new name or a new app does not change the importance of good monitoring.
A solar panel installation can partially fail without you noticing it immediately. An inverter can have a malfunction, part of the installation can produce less, or the yield can slowly decrease.
Problems sometimes go unnoticed for monthsThose who only check their energy bill occasionally often only notice a malfunction much later. As a result, you can lose a lot of yield without realizing it.
With professional monitoring, malfunctions and deviations are discovered faster. The problem can then be investigated and resolved sooner. This keeps the loss of efficiency as limited as possible.
You don’t have to check the app every day yourself. Solar Assistance monitors the performance and helps when we detect a malfunction or deviation.
Continue to use the existing FusionSolar app. Keep your current username and password. Do not delete any installations and do not install any app whose origin you do not know.
As soon as Huawei or Energy Orb announces a final date and official app, you can perform the switch.
Check everything after the switchCheck if your installation is visible, if your historical production data has been preserved, and if all linked devices are online.
Is data missing? Is your installation offline? Or can you no longer log in? Then contact Solar Assistance. We will help you regain insight into the performance of your solar panels.
A monitoring app shows you data. Professional monitoring ensures that this data is also followed up on.
Solar Assistance helps individuals and companies with monitoring, technical assistance, maintenance, and rapid interventions. This way, problems don’t go unnoticed for months and you get more certainty and yield from your solar panels.
