An inverter is the heart of a solar panel system. Solar panels generate direct current (DC) on, but household appliances and the power grid operate on alternating current (AC). The inverter converts this direct current into usable alternating current, so you can use the generated energy or feed it back into the grid.
In addition, the inverter provides:
- Yield optimisation via MPPT (Maximum Power Point Tracking).
- Monitoring and reporting via a display or an app.
- Safety, such as switching off in the event of a fault or mains problems.
